This Old Pawn Turquoise Squash Blossom Necklace was handmade by Navajo Gary Reeves. Simple, classy design that features genuine Sleeping Beauty stones and exceptional craftsmanship! Traditional stamped patterns surround the stones. Naja pendant is strung on 10mm smooth, flattened beads and 8mm seamed bench beads. Including the clasp, it's 29-1/2" long. The pendant measures 2 5/8” long and 2 12” wide made with sterling silver. This necklace is In very good used condition, it's stamped Sterling and hallmarked. This one of a kind-gorgeous!
Gary (1962-2014) was born in Gallup and started making jewelry in 1974. Just like his award winning brothers Sunshine and David, his jewelry is highly collectible. His work is part of the Phoenix Heard Museum, the British Museum and the Gregory and Angie Schaaf collection, and he was featured in Native Peoples magazine, Nov. 2000. He is referenced in Hougart's "Native American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarks" and Schaaf's "American Indian Jewelry I and II".
