Morgan Dollar and Turquoise Squash Blossom Necklace
This Morgan Dollar and Turquoise Squash Blossom Necklace takes its inspiration from the old pawn, coin jewelry seen prior to 1950. Navajo artisan Tom Ahasteen designed & built this beauty with the help of a fellow stone cutter & real US coins. With a gorgeous Royston dangle at its center, the 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" Naja is hammered with traditional patterns. The six, dollar coins are all dated 1921 & serve as the "blossoms". All are strung on a domed & hand seamed & Mercury Dime, bench bead strand. Royston beads provide spacing & it's finished with Sterling cones & an old style, handmade hook/eye. It's 32" end to end & is stamped Sterling & hallmarked. Authentic vintage, coin jewelry is extremely hard to find anymore & certainly out of reach for most budgets, so this Navajo made, Morgan Dollar and Turquoise Squash Blossom Necklace is the next best thing & it's magnificent!
